![]() ![]() Like how the beauty contest in Summer 3 has Robin comment on the other female servants if Guda is male, but comments on the player if Guda is female. ![]() Having any male character flirting optional by being behind a dialogue choice would be the best way to go about it, maybe having choices similar to summer 1 where you get fanservice-y cutscenes based on which quest you complete in future events (like, doing one for Scat to get a little scene with her or one for Cu to get a scene with him, fanservice for everyone)Īnyways, about gender differentiation, I think it's fine in FGO's story when it's just a line here or there that mentions Guda's gender. I'm not sure what else in future events (I don't play JP) are similar though. We did get Prison Tower in terms of the focus being between the player and a male servant though it isn't romantic. It would be really cool for DW to allow for some more branching in dialogue choices. Albeit I feel like newer story chapters (as in, Camelot/Babylon vs Orleans/Septem/etc) handled this better where the follow up response would work regardless of what line of dialogue you pick.Īlthough I thought some dialogue choices did have a line or two different responses to them? I'm probably wrong though since I don't tend to replay cutscenes. I agree with you, it breaks up the flow of conversation in fgo when the dialogue doesn't respond to whatever choice you pick (like, it was written with one response in mind and doesn't account for the second option). Just short but mostly meaningful branches of dialogue would do, even if they're reserved to Valentines scenes and story events like Kogetsu. It doesn't need to go to the extent where FGO feels llike a dating simulator, DW would make more money by making that a separate project, anyways. There is a happy middle that can be reached here, and I think, similar to catering to different personalities, have more options where certain servants treat guda(o) a certain way based on the line of dialogue players choose. Part of it might be DW being concerned over the very small, yet very vocal manbabies players who would screech in anger and pain after a male character subtly hints at being attracted to them.but then I remember Fergus exists and he is far from subtle. I do agree that a lot of male interaction is rather lacking, especially if we were to put some examples side-by-side with some of the good female interactions like, as your wonderful tastes mentioned already, Melt and Eresh. This options don't have to branch out far, just a single line or two that acknowledges that there are different people playing FGO. Same goes for Liz, I would personally treat her a lot less like a nuisance that the game tends to portray her as. ![]() Some people love Kiyohime's antics, so instead of having both options treat her like a freak that she may or may not be, offer a line more often where you can play along with her. Instead, I would like FGO's writing more if they made choices actual choices that reflect a player's individual personality. Personally, I'd prefer the writers avoid referencing Guda(o)'s gender as best as possible, as that is never really an important detail in FGO. What makes this difficult is that writers have to be *extremely* conscientious about the gender-specific dialogue they write, as mistakes can make players feel detached at best or somewhat offended at worst. Money is hardly ever going to be an issue, rather, differentiating between gender outside of small bits of writing is surprisingly difficult when it comes to characters that are designed as avatars.
